Classic Traveller received a massive amount of support in its time, making it one of the broadest RPGs of the day.

GDW produced the Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society to explore different areas of the game, while many third party publishers worked on their own Traveller books. In many cases, these third parties were able to publish official Charted Space material.
